Ethan is responsible for the management of PTAM’s investment activities and risk oversight, along with new investment product and strategy development.
Ethan began his financial services career in 1994 with Chicago-based Citadel Investment Group, LLC. During his tenure at Citadel, he became a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager. In 2005, he joined a Chicago startup company as Executive Vice President, and later became a member of its Board of Directors. In 2009, Ethan became a Portfolio Manager/Strategist for a Lake Forest, IL-based proprietary trading firm where he ran complex strategies employing corporate bonds, swaps, derivatives, currencies, equities and Treasuries. Since 2006, Ethan has also served as a volunteer advisor to the $700 million Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago endowment fund.
Ethan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike brings over 15 years of experience managing institutional fixed-income portfolios. He currently manages investment portfolios across all of PTAM’s structured credit and municipal bond focused funds and separately managed accounts. Mike’s responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, portfolio attribution, modeling RMBS and municipal bond cash flows, and risk management.
Prior to joining PTAM, Mike managed more than $700 million in municipal and corporate bonds, mortgage-backed securities, and other structured fixed-income for the Kentucky Farm Bureau, the state’s largest property and casualty insurance provider. Earlier in his career, Mike held positions at multiple banking institutions where he also managed diverse fixed income portfolios.
Mike graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
Tony manages investments across PTAM’s structured credit focused funds and separately managed accounts. His responsibilities include portfolio construction, security selection, portfolio attribution, and risk management.
Prior to joining PTAM, Tony co-founded Six Degrees Capital Management, an alternative fixed-income investment manager focused on securitized products. From 2001 to 2007, he originated, structured, and invested in securitized products at BMO Capital Markets and managed a multi-billion dollar portfolio of ABS, CDOs, and RMBS. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and passed the CPA exam in 1998.
Tony received a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Michigan Ross School of Business with an emphasis in Accounting and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with an emphasis in Finance and Economics.
Shane collaborates with the PTAM investment team to identify and develop new investment opportunities across multiple asset classes. His responsibilities include investment thesis formation, investment research, trade structuring, and internal risk systems development.
Shane brings over 14 years of investment banking and investment management experience with particular focus on financial services, real estate and corporate credit. Prior to joining the PTAM team, he spent the previous five years at Performance Trust Capital Partners, LLC providing investment banking services and strategic advice to community banks. In this role, he was responsible for merger and acquisitions, divestitures and capital formation. Before joining Performance Trust in 2006, he held business development and analyst roles at hedge fund firms Man Investments and its subsidiary Glenwood Capital.
Shane received a BS from the University of Colorado - Boulder and an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management with emphasis in Analytical Finance and Entrepreneurship. He is also a CFA charterholder.
Jason joined PTAM as a Senior Municipal Analyst, responsible for identifying and analyzing attractive municipal investments across PTAM’s investment complex.
Prior to PTAM, Jason was a Credit Risk Manager at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. At the Federal Reserve, Jason built and reviewed models that stress tested banks’ municipal bond portfolios under a variety of macroeconomic scenarios. Prior to the Federal Reserve, Jason worked for Alliance Bernstein where he held a number of positions in fixed income, including a High Yield Research Analyst for its $30B municipal bond platform.
Jason earned his BS in Finance from Touro College and received his MBA from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business with high honors. Jason is also a CFA and FRM charterholder.
